A gripping tale of romance.
Maisie Bennett, a dedicated special education teacher, decides to take a much-needed break for the summer. Though she loves her job and her students, she feels drained and longs for a change of scenery. Maisie travels to Scotland, where she rents a room in a sprawling castle, hoping the grand setting will inspire her to focus on her passion for writing children’s books. Despite her efforts, she never publishes her stories, believing they are not good enough. As she settles into the castle, Maisie meets Callum MacPherson, the charming owner of the estate.
Callum, or Cal, is intrigued by Maisie’s creativity and encourages her to take her writing seriously. He insists that her stories are worth sharing with the world, slowly building Maisie’s confidence in her work. As the days pass, Maisie and Cal spend more time together, exploring the enchanting Scottish countryside and sharing their dreams and ambitions. Cal falls for Maisie first, drawn to her warmth and passion, and patiently waits for her to realize her feelings for him. Maisie is cautious, unsure if she can trust her heart with someone she has just met.
